2026 Lobster Chowder Chowdown Showdown

They came, they saw and you better believe they chowed down! The sold-out crowd at the 2026 Lobster Chowder Chowdown Showdown was treated to eight of the greatest chowders from here along Nova Scotia’s South Shore, and as yummy as they all were – at the end of all that deliciousness, only one of them could take home the oh-so-coveted Golden Ladle trophy. That restaurant is… Capt. Kat’s Lobster Shack in Barrington, Wahoo!!!
Congratulations to our 2nd Place team from Waves Seafood & Grill in Bridgewater, and cheers to Mr.Fish in Shelburne on taking 3rd Place.
We’re ever so grateful to all 2026 our competitors, including Boxing Rock Brewing Co., Bridgewater Local Public House, The Emerald Light Kitchen & Bar, The Sou’wester and White Point Beach Resort. We truly appreciate the wonderful hospitality extended by our hosts, the Black Loyalist Heritage Centre.
And BIG BIG THANKS to everyone who joined us for this year’s celebration. It was lovely to chowdown with all of you and tally your votes for the 2026 People’s Choice Chowder, who, by the way, is… Capt. Kat’s Lobster Shack!

We’ve got the most mouthwatering news for you! Tickets for the 2026 Lobster Chowder Chowdown Showdown are on sale now!!! Get set for the most delicious day Sunday, February 8th, when Remarkable Restaurants from all along Nova Scotia’s South Shore gather to present their most excellent entries. And yes – as the name suggests this event is doubly delightful!!!
Chowdown! As ALL Ticket Holders will be treated to a sensational sampling of all Lobster Chowders.
Showdown! OH MOST DEFINITELY YES!!! All Restaurants present will be there to compete for much-coveted GOLDEN LADLE Trophy.
